If it starts with no choke when cold then needs wide open throttle when hot it sounds like it must be running too rich.
You sure the choke isn't stuck?

the choke is not working the cable snapped one day and i never bothered to replace it
and on a very cold morning i still use it with my hand but it dose not need much
and i also think it is running rich
but if you ride it for a while and stop 10 min later it will start ok ???
i still haven't checked the float been lazy
but i also have done a rejet on the carby and that has made the problem worse no change in the problem it has amplified the problem
i have also replaced the plugs and checked them after the first couple of rides a bit rich but not to bad ???
oh well it runs and i am happy
still looking for a new bike to play with i want something bigger cheers
